SYRACUSE — The Syracuse Opera board of directors has elected a new slate of officers and appointed four new board members to serve the nonprofit, professional opera company during its 2013-2014 season and fiscal year.
The Syracuse Opera board officers are: Chairman of the Board, Daniel Larson; Vice Chair, Amy Van Kirk; Treasurer, Jim Poole; Secretary, Don Lynch; Board Development Chair (Interim), R. Andrew Hagen.
In addition, the Syracuse Opera appointed four new board members: Eileen W. Price, David M. Rubin, Hildegard Schulze, and Barbara Stone, according to a news release from the Syracuse Opera.

Rubin was dean of the Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University from 1990 to 2008, and is now a member of the full-time faculty of the school. Rubin is currently the host and co-creator of “The Ivory Tower Half Hour” on WCNY-TV.
Schulze is a former Syracuse Opera board member who has supported Syracuse Opera since 1974, the year it was founded, the released stated. Following her retirement from KeyBank, she co-founded the Syracuse Opera Aria Society and served as its president for three years.
Stone is currently director of planning services at Crucible Materials Corporation. She previously served two terms on the Syracuse Opera board of directors.
