The grand opening officially launched the Rahma Health Clinic at 3100 S. Salina St. The Muslim American Care and Compassion Alliance of Syracuse operates the clinic, which is funded by private donations, according to a news release.
It offers primary-care and specialty services — medication monitoring, screening, counseling, and treating illnesses and injuries. The clinic aims to provide health care for individuals who are uninsured or underserved, no matter their background, race, religion, or ability to pay.
Currently, it is open Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Wednesdays from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. It eventually wants to open Monday through Saturday. Visits are by appointment only.
The clinic operates under the New York State Health Care Practitioner Volunteer program.
