SYRACUSE, N.Y. — Syracuse University (SU) will host Le Moyne College to open the 2024-25 men’s basketball season on Nov. 4.

Le Moyne will be entering its second season in Division I, as a member of the Northeast Conference.

It will be the first time the neighboring schools will meet in a regular season game in which they are both members of Division I. Syracuse and Le Moyne have met six times in the regular season when the Dolphins were part of Division II, with the Orange winning each game, SU Athletics said in Wednesday’s announcement. The Orange won the most recent contest, 85-51, on Dec. 16, 2008.

The Dolphins famously defeated the Orange in an exhibition game, 82-79, in November 2009. The two local programs first met in the 1977-78 season.

The Orange were 20-12 a year ago in Adrian Autry’s first campaign at the helm. Le Moyne was 15-17 overall and 9-7 in the Northeastern Conference last season. Nate Champion is in his sixth season as head coach of the Dolphins.
