SYRACUSE, N.Y. — Syracuse University Athletics on Wednesday announced a multi-year sponsorship agreement with Hidden Level, a Syracuse–based firm that provides an airspace-monitoring service.
The agreement will “benefit multiple areas of the Orange athletics programs and the JMA Wireless Dome fan experience,” Syracuse Athletics said in its Wednesday announcement.
Hidden Level is now the “official Airspace Safety Partner” of Syracuse Athletics and presenting sponsor of the Kuhn Gameday Lounge along with the Hidden Level Student Section at football and basketball games.
Through the agreement that includes all 20 Syracuse teams, the company made a commitment to supporting Syracuse student-athletes through the LEARFIELD NIL Fund, Syracuse Athletics said.
NIL is short for name, image, and likeness. “On June 30, 2021, the Division 1 Board of Directors approved an interim name, image and likeness (NIL) policy. This new policy allows all NCAA D1, D2 and D3 student-athletes to be compensated for their NIL as of July 1, 2021, regardless of whether their state has a NIL law in place or not,” per the website of NCSA College Recruiting, which describes itself as the “largest college athletic recruiting platform.”
“Syracuse Athletics is proud to partner with such an innovative local company,” John Wildhack, director of athletics at Syracuse University, said in the university’s announcement. “Early on in our conversations we realized the potential that this partnership could take on many facets. We are grateful for Hidden Level’s commitment toward our facilities and student-athletes through NIL. We are excited about this partnership with such a dynamic company.”
As described in the news release, Hidden Level “delivers the only industry solution that provides secure, accurate low-altitude airspace monitoring at scale through custom-built sensor technology to providing Safety Through Sensing.”
