Syracuse University Athletics, Driver’s Village announce marketing deal

CICERO, N.Y. — Burdick Chevrolet will sponsor the “popular” complimentary spirit buttons for Syracuse University’s six home football games this season.

It’s part of a multi-year marketing agreement between Syracuse Athletics and Driver’s Village, which officials from both organizations announced Thursday at Driver’s Village in Cicero.

The first button, “Annihilate Gate,” will be available at Driver’s Village dealerships the week before Syracuse’s season opener against Colgate on Sept. 2.

In addition to sponsoring the buttons, the new marketing partnership makes Driver’s Village “the official auto-dealer group of Syracuse Athletics.”

The auto mall’s dealerships will equip 10,000 vehicles with “Orange is the New Fast” window flags, the school said.

The dealer group will also run ads on all Syracuse IMG radio-network broadcasts, and Driver’s Village will have a presence on the Syracuse Quad during football games and in the backcourt area of the Carrier Dome during basketball season.
