SYRACUSE, N.Y. — Syracuse University Athletics on Friday morning broke ground on the construction of its upcoming football-operations center.
The center is part of the Lally Athletics Complex, which Syracuse describes as a “state-of-the-art academic and athletic village,” according to a May announcement detailing the current phase of construction. The complex serves more than 600 student-athletes across 20 teams.
The football-operations center will feature increased sports-medicine space and student-athlete recovery rooms, a new and expanded team cafeteria and nutrition space, as well as a new locker room, position meeting rooms and coaches’ offices, among other amenities.
Syracuse Athletics describes the center as one that will “provide significant upgrades to the student-athlete experience and help them meet their performance goals,” per the May announcement.
The new Football Operations Center will also feature exhibits honoring the history and tradition of Syracuse University football. The expanded footprint of the building also has dedicated space to use for recruiting visits.
