SYRACUSE, N.Y. — Syracuse University on Wednesday said that — as of this Saturday — fans will no longer be required to demonstrate proof of vaccination against COVID or a negative virus test before entering the Carrier Dome for an event.

The school has revised its entry policy for Carrier Dome events, noting that the decision is “consistent with other large venue operators across New York state.” The decision also follows a “comprehensive review of current public health conditions on campus and around Central New York,” the university said in a statement.

Syracuse University also noted that it will be hosting a number of external events in the coming months, including Monster Jam and the Paul McCartney concert. The event promoters will determine and communicate public-health protocols for those events, the school said.

The university added that it continues to assess public-health conditions and will issue revised guidance “should that become necessary,” per its statement.
