The average total cost for full-time undergraduates — including tuition, room and board, and fees — is also rising 3.4 percent for the 2017-18 school year, according to a university news release.
Most room and board rates will increase between 2 percent and 2.5 percent, depending on the room and meal plan chosen, Syracuse said.
The 2017-18 university budget also includes the “largest commitment” to university-funded financial aid, totaling $255 million for undergraduate students. The figure represents a 4.8 percent increase in aid over the 2016-17 academic year.
In addition, the 2017-18 budget will support a 2.5 percent increase in graduate-assistant stipends for students earning above the minimum stipend, a measure the graduate-student organization sought.
