Syracuse women’s basketball team heads into ACC Tournament as 8th seed

SYRACUSE, N.Y. — The Syracuse University women’s basketball team will be the No. 8 seed and play No. 9 seed Virginia Tech in this week’s Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) Tournament in Greensboro, North Carolina.

The Orange (22-7, 10-6) women will play the Hokies (17-12, 6-10) on Thursday afternoon in the tournament’s second round. Tip-off is scheduled for 2 p.m.

Syracuse enters the ACC Tournament following its fifth straight win, defeating Boston College, 69-63 on Sunday afternoon in the Carrier Dome. The Orange women are expected to get an NCAA bid no matter what happens at the ACC Tournament, but they can improve their NCAA seeding with a win or two in Greensboro.

All 14 games of this year’s tournament will be televised. The first, second and quarterfinal rounds will be carried by the league’s regional sports network, RSN.
