ITHACA, N.Y. — Taitem Engineering, PC, a design engineering and energy-consulting firm, announced it has appointed two new directors to its board.

Betsy Parrington is a senior engineer at Taitem and a proven manager for statewide energy programs. Theresa Ryan is creative leader for Taitem’s marketing and business development. With their addition, the board of directors now includes its first women and first non-shareholders.

“We are pleased to welcome Betsy and Theresa as new directors to the Taitem board,” Lou Vogel, company president, and Yossi Bronsnick, VP, declared in a statement. “Their fresh perspectives and industry experience are a welcome addition and will help to make Taitem a better company. As we continue to grow and evolve, we are committed to continuous evaluation of our board’s composition to ensure we have the right mix of skills and experience to advance our mission.”

Parrington has 20 years of experience in the energy-efficiency sector including multifamily, commercial, and industrial energy auditing and retrofit projects, which she has focused on since joining Taitem in 2010. She has led the firm’s quality assurance department since 2016 and currently manages a team of engineers and analysts providing quality assurance for NYSERDA programs.

Ryan joined Taitem in 2010 and grew into her current role, where she manages business growth opportunities for the company along with furthering collaboration and inclusiveness among staff. She creates public messaging and technical presentations to serve the building industry and promote Taitem staff’s achievements in design and energy engineering. Ryan has more than 20 years of experience in marketing and business development including 10 years concentrated in the building sector. In previous marketing-director roles, she has led brand-development teams. Along with her work at Taitem, Ryan also operates a sheep and blueberry farm.

Founded in 1989, Ithaca–based Taitem Engineering is a full-service consulting engineering firm serving both private and public entities in sectors including education, multifamily, commercial, industrial, and health care.
