Brosnick, who previously served as VP, joined Taitem in 2006 and became a partner in 2013. He is the principal in charge of Taitem’s design department.

Brosnick says he’s excited about his new position and tackling the challenges facing Taitem Engineering and the industry.

“Our industry continues to face new challenges including affordable deep energy retrofits for existing buildings, electrification of our new and existing buildings through new technologies, and planning for and understanding our everyday energy use,” he said in a release.

As VP, Brosnick managed a multi-disciplinary staff while also completing his own work in design engineering and green-building consulting and taking part in decision making and guidance for the firm. In his new role, Brosnick focuses on improving Taitem’s transparency in communications with staff and clients and advocating for high-performance buildings, the firm says.

Parrington, who joined Taitem in 2010, previously served as senior engineer and manager of the quality assurance department. Her focus has been on quality assurance for statewide multifamily performance programs under the firm’s longstanding contract with NYSERDA.

As VP, she will have responsibilities in the areas of finance, human resources, and business development. Parrington has an interest in staff development and plans to implement training initiatives in the coming months, the firm says. She has 20 years of experience in building energy efficiency.

Brosnick and Parrington both intend to continue building on the company’s efforts for an inclusive, equitable, and regenerative economy as a certified B-Corporation since 2013, meaning it voluntarily meets standards for social and environmental performance.

Founded in 1989, Taitem Engineering is a full-service consulting engineering firm focusing on innovative, sustainable design and building science, working in sectors including education, multifamily, commercial, industrial, and health care. The firm has a staff of 33, including nine licensed professional engineers. Taitem Engineering is based at 110 South Albany St. in Ithaca.
