Taste of Syracuse returns in early June following two-year absence

SYRACUSE, N.Y. — Taste of Syracuse will return to downtown Syracuse in and around Clinton Square in early June following a two-year absence due to the pandemic.

“Central New York’s biggest food and music festival” will return on Friday, June 3 and Saturday, June 4, in and around Clinton Square from 11:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. both days, Galaxy Media announced Wednesday. Admission is free.

The Summit Federal Credit Union Taste of Syracuse is presented by Tops Friendly Markets, per the Galaxy Media news release.

Festival goers will have the chance to sample items from local eateries for only $2. Several new restaurants and vendors will be joining the 2022 festival, and many “fan favorites” will also be returning, per the news release.

The Taste of Syracuse will have non-stop music during the two-day event, featuring more than 33 bands. They’ll include Everclear — the Grammy award nominated, 1990’s alternative band — which will headline the festival on Saturday night.  Additionally, the popular youth talent showcase will return on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Besides the food samples and music, the Taste of Syracuse will collect donations for two charitable organizations, McMahon Ryan Child Advocacy Center and Make-A-Wish Central New York. The Summit, Tops, along with other sponsors and vendors will be working with the festival to raise money for these great charities all weekend long.  All proceeds from activities at The Summit’s tent and the Tops tent will be donated to the charities, Galaxy Media said.

Galaxy Media is “ready to celebrate” the 24th anniversary of the Taste of Syracuse, Carrie Wojtaszek, company COO, said.

“No matter what you’re looking for, musically or food-wise, we truly can say we’ve got it at the Taste of Syracuse!” Wojtaszek said. “We’re also thrilled to be raising awareness and funds for both McMahon Ryan Child Advocacy Center and Make-A-Wish Central New York. We’d like to thank The Summit Federal Credit Union and Tops Friendly Markets for their support.  With help from our sponsors, we’re able to showcase this amazing event to the CNY community!”
