TEAM Tioga celebrates partnership success

OWEGO, N.Y. — TEAM Tioga recently held a breakfast event, titled “Tioga Together: Advancing the Vision,” at Tioga Downs Casino Resort to celebrate the success of the county-wide collaborative partnership.

TEAM Tioga is an alliance between the Tioga County Department of Economic Development and Planning, Tioga County Local Development Corporation, Tioga County Industrial Development Agency, and the Tioga County Property Development Corporation (Land Bank) that acts as a one-stop-shop for businesses and organizations in the county to bring projects to fruition.

“One of the core beliefs of TEAM Tioga is that we can’t do it alone,” LeeAnn Tinney, director of Tioga County Economic Development and Planning, said in a news release. “Partnerships and collaborations are critical to the success of the Southern Tier as a whole. We are fortunate to have excellent working relationships throughout Tioga County and the region.”

Speakers at the event included Sabrina Henriques, president and CEO of the Tioga County Chamber of Commerce; Dave Astorina, Local Development Corporation board member; Dr. Eric Knolles, Tioga County Industrial Development Agency board member; Martha Sauerbrey, Tioga County legislative chair; along with Tinney. Event attendees represented businesses and organizations that have recently partnered with TEAM Tioga.

“TEAM Tioga is the sum of several organizations, entities, and creative people who think outside the box,” Sauerbrey said. “The secret is synergy; working together creates a greater sum.”

Deluge Media produced a short documentary about the impact of the partnership that is available at www.deluge.media/teamtioga.
