SYRACUSE, N.Y. — Terakeet — a Syracuse–based enterprise search-engine technology company — recently appointed Mark Kennedy as its president.

Kennedy is filling a newly created position, RJ Licata, marketing manager at Terakeet, tells CNYBJ in an email.

Kennedy’s responsibilities as president include revenue growth with new and existing clients, leading the executive team, and “laying the foundation for scale,” per Terakeet’s Tuesday news release.

“I joined Terakeet because of the incredible potential of this business and the great team that Mac and Pat have assembled,” Kennedy said in the release. “I’m thrilled and honored to be asked to help lead this great company.”

Kennedy was referring to MacLaren Cummings, CEO and co-founder of Terakeet, along with Patrick Danial, the firm’s chief technology officer and co-founder.

Kennedy comes to Terakeet from RED Strategy Group in Cincinnati, Ohio where he served as a partner and consultant.

In total, he has been a three-time CEO and founded nine companies, Terakeet says.

“Mark was the obvious choice for president of Terakeet. His experience as both a seasoned entrepreneur and global coach to some of the world’s leading companies will bring immediate impact to our organization,” Cummings said in the firm’s release. “Mark has had the chance to learn about our business and is excited about what we are capable of. We are fired up for the future.”

Terakeet, which operates at 333 W. Washington St. in Syracuse, has 217 employees, Licata says.
