DICKINSON, N.Y. — The Agency and Greater Binghamton Chamber of Commerce started a remote work plan, as of March 19 with an anticipated end date of April 13.

The organizations know that “things could change dramatically” during the time period, Stacey Duncan, executive director of the Agency, said in a message to its members. The Agency is the rebranded name of the Broome County Industrial Development Agency/Local Development Corp. Duncan is also president & CEO of the Greater Binghamton Chamber of Commerce.

“Speaking on behalf of our boards of directors and staffs, I would like you to know is that we are committed to providing resources and up-to-date information to assist our businesses during these challenging times. We will go virtual in the weeks ahead,” she told members.

Duncan said the Agency and Greater Binghamton Chamber have set up a resource page for businesses at https://greaterbinghamtonchamber.com/coronavirus and are “continually” updating the information as they receive it.

Both organizations will use all of their digital-communication tools, and the entire staff is “reachable by phone and email,” according to Duncan.

“We are in regular communication with our government partners at the local, state and federal levels to outline the needs of our businesses, large and small. We are looking at the creation of financial resources to assist some of our hardest hit sectors, especially our small service businesses. We anticipate more information to come,” Duncan said.
