CANTON, N.Y. — The St. Lawrence County Chamber of Commerce (STLC Chamber) says it hosted a formal-opening event for The White Silo at Saphead Complex, an event venue located at 5355 County Route 27 in Canton on May 9.

The White Silo at Saphead Complex is an event venue for all types of events including weddings, banquets, and parties, according to the STLC Chambers announcement. The White Silo is equipped with a DJ sound system, a licensed bar and kitchen, and the ability to cater events on-site by request.

The White Silo at Saphead complex also sells local beef and maplesyrup products, as well as offering take-out and dine-in dinners at various times of the year.

The White Silo at Saphead Complex is a diversified business established to fill community needs for event space, dining, local food, and recreation. In doing so, it is contributing to the character and quality of life of the community it is a part of, Ben Dixon, executive director of the St. Lawrence County Chamber of Commerce, said in remarks at the ribbon cutting. The White Silo team has quickly become a great partner with the Chamber. They hosted a wonderful Total Eclipse viewing event with a pancake breakfast, a band, and more, and they recently hosted the Dairy Princess Banquet as part of the Dairy Festival Days coming up in Canton on May 31st and June 1st. In return, we will help The White Silo, as a Chamber member, with promotion and marketing, networking and connections, business development opportunities, communications on what is happening in the county, and the other things we do as a Chamber.

Those cutting the ribbon at the ceremony included Amy Plumadore of NBT Bank; Jodie Bell, manager of The White Silo and Saphead Complex; Lori Kelly, a cook at The White Silo; Carol Zeh, owner of the Saphead Complex; Grayson Tupper; Kullyn Tupper; Elliot Rodee, owner of The White Silo; Dr. John Zeh, owner of the Saphead Complex; Ben Dixon, executive director of the STLC Chamber; Katie Berry, STLC Chamber Canton community coordinator; Randy Brown, member of the Canton Town Board; Linda Casserly, Canton Town Historian; John Taillon, member of the Canton Town Board; and Canton Town Supervisor Mary Ann Ashley.
