SYRACUSE, N.Y. — ThinkGeek, a popular web retailer for self-proclaimed geeks, will soon open a store at Destiny USA.
ThinkGeek specializes in collectibles, apparel, and gadgets from pop-culture phenomena such as Star Wars, Star Trek, Game of Thrones, and more.
It will open a store on Destiny’s first floor, across from Forever 21, late this year, according to a mall news release.

Founded in 1999, ThinkGeek is known for products that appeal to “geeky passions, stimulate imaginations, and fuel fans’ geek cores” from Star Wars light sabers to Game of Thrones tableware.
“The new ThinkGeek store is a welcomed addition for the geek in all of us,” Aiden McGuire, director of marketing at Destiny USA, said in the release. “ThinkGeek’s fun, clever, and creative gadgets and gizmos appeal to fans and shoppers of all ages and interests, and many of these products are exclusive to ThinkGeek and can’t be found anywhere else.”
Starting in September, 2015, ThinkGeek has shifted away from its traditional online-only model to open bricks-and-mortar stores across the U.S., with the help of its new owner, GameStop.
The Destiny USA venue will be ThinkGeek’s first foray into Central New York. ThinkGeek currently has 22 stores open, or about to open, in 10 states, according to its website. That includes two stores in the New York City area, one on Long Island, and one in Buffalo, which opens Nov. 18.
