Thomas named GM of Radisson Corning hotel

Marisa Thomas

CORNING, N.Y. — Marisa Thomas is the new general manager of Radisson Corning as it embarks on a multi-million-dollar, property-wide renovation before it converts to a Hilton flag.

Thomas, who previously served as general manager of Canopy by Hilton in Ithaca, is responsible for overseeing operations and elevating the guest experience.

“We’re going to be a phoenix rising from the ashes,” Thomas said in a press statement about the 50-plus-year-old hotel and the renovations that begin in late summer. By the spring of 2023, the hotel, located at 125 Denison Parkway East, will transition to a Hilton DoubleTree. “Although the property may have faded somewhat over the years, it’s set to rise up and be ‘the’ hotel in Corning again,” she added.

Managed by Core Hotels & Resorts, Radisson Corning is a full-service hotel with 177 rooms; 8,000 square feet of flexible-function space; and space for conferences, banquets, and other events. Located just steps away from the Corning Museum of Glass in the heart of the historic Gaffer District, it offers on-site food and beverage outlets helmed by executive chef Sean Glacken — including Grill 1-2-5, Steuben Bar, and Market Street Social.

“I want for us to be known for a locally-sourced, farm-to-table food and beverage program and excellent customer service,” Thomas says. “As the hotel evolves over the next several months, look for an exciting new culinary direction to follow in suit.”
