Tickets for the State Fair and parking to go on sale Wednesday

GEDDES, N.Y. — Tickets and parking tickets for this year’s New York State Fair go on sale Wednesday morning starting at 8 a.m. through the Fair’s exclusive online ticket seller, Etix.

Tickets cost $3, and the parking cost is $5, remaining the same as last year. In addition, admission remains free of charge for people aged 65 and older, as well as children 12 years old and younger.

“As part of our commitment to making sure that the Fair is as accessible as possible to all New Yorkers, our team felt strongly that keeping admission across the board at $3 was the right thing to do, especially as we continue to re-emerge from the pandemic,” Sean Hennessey, interim director of the New York State Fair, said in a statement.

The New York State Fair begins on Wednesday, Aug. 24 and continues through Labor Day, Sept. 5.

The three ways to buy tickets are in advance online, over the phone, and in-person during the Fair at all gates through electronic kiosks.

The link to purchase tickets will go live at 8 a.m. on Wednesday at NYSFair.NY.Gov.

In addition, fairgoers may also purchase tickets over the phone starting Wednesday by calling Etix toll-free at 1-800-514-3849 from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Sunday.

If people would prefer buying tickets at the gate, kiosks for electronic ticket purchases will be available at all gates during the State Fair. Large signs featuring QR codes will be strategically posted, directing fairgoers to the event’s website to purchase tickets.

With fees, patrons’ total cost will be $3.19 per admission.

The State Fair also emphasizes it will not accept cash sales at the Fair’s entrance gates or in parking lots.

Those interested can also purchase the $5 tickets for parking through Etix. On the day(s) they visit the fair, drivers may show their ticket to parking attendants electronically on their phones, or through a printed copy. With fees, parking purchased online will cost $5.23/vehicle.

In the Orange and Brown lots, parking may also be paid for using EZPass Plus, a free add-on to EZPass, which allows users to pay for parking in addition to highway tolls.
