NICHOLS, N.Y. — The Tioga Downs Hotel on Monday opened for business with “select floors” of the hotel open to all guests.
The hotel’s formal-opening ceremony is set for Dec 1 at 1 p.m., the company said in a news release issued Monday.
The six-story, 161-room hotel will include the AgeLess spa, fitness center, three pools, two rooftop decks, an events center with banquet and reception areas that can accommodate up to 400 people, and P.J. Clarke’s restaurant.

P.J. Clarke’s, the venue’s newest eatery; the events center, and the new spa will open at the end of November, Jeff Gural, chairman of American Racing and Entertainment LLC, told BJNN in October. The event center is part of the hotel.
Additionally, the nearby Tioga Golf Club golf course will have a new clubhouse in time for the 2018 season.
Buffalo–based LPCiminelli is handling the construction work on the hotel, while Toronto, Ontario–based Climans Green Liang Architects Inc. completed the design work.
Those same firms are also involved in the construction of the new clubhouse at Tioga Golf Club.
“The opening of the hotel will mark a major milestone in the transformation of Tioga Downs into a full-service destination resort,” Gural said in the release. “The hotel offers a convenient and comfortable place for guests of all ages to stay and enjoy the many wonderful amenities the property has to offer. This will make Tioga Downs an even bigger draw for weddings, parties, and conferences, and bring visitors and tourism to Tioga County.”
Tioga Downs broke ground on the hotel in September 2016, shortly after New York awarded it a full gaming license. The new additions will create “hundreds” of new jobs, bringing the total number of Tioga Downs employees to about 700.
