ITHACA, N.Y. — Tompkins County Finance Director Rick Snyder recently reported that the county’s sales-tax receipts rose by 9.71 percent in June compared to the year-ago period.
And for the full second quarter, sales-tax receipts in the county rose 6.5 percent compared to the same quarter in 2013.
The increased sales-tax collections are a sign of growing economic activity and consumer spending in Tompkins County.
