Tompkins County woman arrested for stealing $5,700 from employer with company credit card

ITHACA, N.Y. — New York State Police in Ithaca announced they recently arrested a Tompkins County woman for allegedly stealing more than $5,700 from her employer via a company credit card.

State Police on Oct. 28 charged Melissa Jenkins, age 43 of the town of Newfield, with third-degree grand larceny, a felony.

An investigation revealed that while working for Serendipity Catering in Ithaca, Jenkins used a company issued credit card to make personal, unauthorized purchases from April 2022 until October 2023, totaling over $5,700.

Jenkins was processed at the State Police location in Ithaca and transported to the Tompkins County Correctional Facility for arraignment, the State Police said.
