ITHACA — Tompkins Financial Corp. (NYSE: TMP) announced that it has promoted Scott L. Gruber to CEO of VIST Bank, its subsidiary community bank based in southeastern Pennsylvania.
Gruber succeeds Robert D. Davis, who retired as CEO on Dec. 31. Gruber, who hails from Berks County, joined Tompkins Financial on April 30, 2013 as president and chief operating officer of VIST Bank, headquartered in Wyomissing, Pa. He retains the title of president.
“Since joining VIST, Scott has been a valuable member of the Tompkins Financial Leadership Team,” Stephen S. Romaine, president and CEO of Tompkins Financial, said in a news release. “With his financial services expertise and knowledge of the marketplace, we look forward to his continued leadership in growing relationships in southeastern Pennsylvania and VIST becoming one of our most successful affiliates.”
Gruber has more than 30 years experience in financial services. Before joining Tompkins Financial, he spent 16 years with National Penn Bank, where he last served as president of the Central Region with responsibility for branch offices and business centers in Berks, Schuylkill, and western Montgomery counties, according to the release.
VIST Bank has 20 branches in southeastern Pennsylvania.
