ITHACA — Rosemary Hyland has been promoted to executive vice president, director of human resources at Tompkins Financial Corp. (NYSE: TMP). In this position, she leads the human resources and learning and development departments for the banking and financial-services firm.

“Our employees are our greatest resource and Rosemary’s leadership has contributed to our development of high caliber, knowledgeable staff,” Steve Romaine, president and CEO of Tompkins Financial, said in a news release.

Hyland joined the Tompkins Financial organization in May 2000, initially with Tompkins Mahopac Bank as vice president, director of human resources. She was later promoted to senior vice president for the parent company and serves on the corporate leadership team. Hyland has been in the banking industry for more than 18 years.

Tompkins Financial serves the Central, Western, and Hudson Valley regions of New York and the Southeastern region of Pennsylvania. Headquartered in Ithaca, it is parent to Tompkins Trust Company, The Bank of Castile, Mahopac Bank, VIST Bank, Tompkins Insurance Agencies, Inc., and offers wealth-management services through Tompkins Financial Advisors.
