Tompkins Trust hires Bisaccio to lead expansion into Syracuse market

SYRACUSE, N.Y. — Ithaca–based Tompkins Trust Company announced it is expanding its financial-services offerings into the Syracuse market, and has hired an experienced commercial banker, Brian Bisaccio, to lead the effort.

Tompkins Trust has appointed Bisaccio as senior vice president and regional manager to develop commercial-lending services based in Onondaga County, according to a company news release.

As Tompkins Trust grows in the Syracuse market, Bisaccio will be joined by representatives from Tompkins Financial Advisors, the company’s wealth-management firm, and Tompkins Insurance Agencies, an insurance agency with roots going back 100 years in Central New York, the banking company said in the release.

Tompkins Trust said it has been serving customers in Onondaga County for several years. It has generated growth in its commercial banking, wealth, and insurance businesses, which led to its decision to establish an office in Syracuse.

The banking company says it has not yet selected a location for its Syracuse–area office, but Bisaccio is currently serving customers in Onondaga County from Tompkins Trust’s other offices. Tompkins Trust has 10 offices in Tompkins County, and one each in Cayuga, Cortland, and Schuyler counties.

“We’ve been very pleased with the response from our growing base of Syracuse customers, and we felt it was time to establish a convenient office for our customers and staff,” Greg Hartz, president and CEO of Tompkins Trust, said in the release. “Brian’s more than 30 years of banking experience in the Syracuse market, along with his extensive knowledge of the banking industry, will provide strong leadership for Tompkins Trust Company customers in Onondaga County. We are confident in his abilities to assist businesses in achieving success.”
