Treadwell re-elected to NYS Economic Development Council board

OSWEGO — Operation Oswego County Executive Director L. Michael Treadwell was recently re-elected to another two-year term on the board of directors of the New York State Economic Development Council (NYSEDC).

Treadwell, who is also CEO of the County of Oswego IDA, has been with Operation Oswego County since 1983. It is the county’s main economic-development agency.

NYSEDC says it’s the state’s primary organization representing economic-development organizations and professionals. Its 700 members include industrial-development agencies, development corporations, commercial and investment banks, underwriters, bond counsels, utilities, chambers of commerce, and private corporations.

In addition to distributing a quarterly newsletter, the council conducts educational courses and seminars and monitors state and federal legislation that affects economic development.
