VERONA — Oneida Nation Enterprises has named Melissa Olsen director of sales at Turning Stone Resort Casino. She will oversee all aspects of resort sales, including corporate meetings, conventions, and trade shows, the Nation said in a news release.
Olsen is also responsible for wedding sales, group tour sales, and conference services at Turning Stone.
Olsen brings extensive experience in the hospitality industry, most recently as director of sales and marketing at the W San Diego. Before that, she was director of sales for Starwood Hotels and Resorts’ group of four properties in San Diego. Olsen previously served as director of sales and marketing for the Hard Rock Hotel San Diego, and held various sales leadership positions at other Starwood Hotel and Resort properties on the West Coast, the Nation said.
The job at Turning Stone marks a return to upstate New York for Olsen. She is a native of Elba (near Batavia), a graduate of the State University of New York at Geneseo, and began her career in hotel sales in Rochester.
