UTICA, N.Y. — Upstate Family Health Center, Inc. (UFHC) has promoted Richard Williams to chief operating officer.
In his new role, Williams engages in community outreach along with streamlining processes within the organization and expanding the organization’s brand. He started working at UFHC in 2020 as a clinical supervisor and most recently served as director of nursing
“Rich has been an integral part of our growth in a short amount of time,” UFHC CEO John Milligan said in a news release. “We have 2,500 new patients since 2020. As an agency, we’ve administered over 30,000 COVID vaccines and have been involved in 100,000-plus tests around the community. We’ve opened a school-based health center in the Waterville school district. UFHC has also joined forces with Central Oneida County Volunteer Ambulance and are bringing hands-on care with tele visits. Rich has helped to spearhead our new behavioral health and substance abuse treatment programs when we recognized a need for them in our community. I’m confident that Upstate Family Health Center will continue to grow the programs we offer with the help of Rich working with our community.”
Born and raised in Utica, Williams sees UFHC as a medical and community leader. “I want to be involved in helping the city thrive and prosper,” he said. “I love the patients that we serve here at UFHC. On any given day, we see so many people with different back stories and backgrounds. It’s one of the best parts of my day.”
Upstate Family Health Center is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit, federally qualified health center. It offers family health-care services at its locations in Utica and Rome and several school-based health centers.
