— Crews early next week will begin “necessary” maintenance repairs on the parking garage at Syracuse Hancock International Airport.

That’s according to the Syracuse Regional Airport Authority, which on Tuesday released a statement about the repairs and the impact they’ll have on rental-car returns.

The airport will close portions of the parking garage over the next few months to make the repairs, the authority said in the news release.

To accommodate passengers, the airport will temporarily locate the rental-car return area in the overflow lot.

Officials will move the rental cars beginning Wednesday.

Those returning rental cars are advised to turn left at the traffic light onto Constellation Way and follow the signs for “Rental Car Return,” the authority said.

The parking area will have signs for the rental companies. The airport asks drivers to park their rental cars in the specified area.

If no one is in the rental car area to collect keys, drivers should bring them inside to the rental-car counter, the authority said.
