LITTLE FALLS, N.Y. — UpMobility Foundation (UMF) has appointed Amy Lindner as its new interim executive director.
She brings an extensive background in higher education and the nonprofit sector, including program development and evaluation, grants administration, fundraising, community, and constituent relations, and more, the foundation announced.
Based in Little Falls, UMF says it works to forge partnerships and collaborative efforts with nonprofit organizations, offering support beyond grant funding.
As interim executive director, Lindner will focus on “advancing UMF into a dynamic and innovative organization by building a transformational philanthropy strategy, increasing organizational capacity, and measuring impact as the organization strives to become a proactive leader…,” according to the UMF announcement.
“This role will be pivotal for UMF as it transitions to a solutions-based community impact investor,” UMF Founder and Board Chair Martin Babinec said. “Amy will bring new insights into UMF’s evolving strategy for increasing impact and measuring outcomes. Her leadership will strengthen UMF’s ability to serve communities, drive innovation, and foster deeper partnerships. She will help us lay the groundwork for long-term, transformative impact in upstate New York, the U.S., and around the world.”
Prior to joining UMF, Lindner worked at Utica University as the VP for advancement and chief grants officer where she focused on developing plans and strategies for the advancement division at the college. Lindner led its most recent $30 million capital campaign and served on several committees and work groups.
In November 2024, UMF announced a collaborative partnership with the Community Foundation of Herkimer and Oneida Counties, where the Community Foundation assists UMF in growth endeavors, including the process of hiring a new interim executive director.
“One of the very first steps in building capacity for our partners at UMF was finding someone who would bring the right perspective and vision needed to support them in this transformative phase,” Community Foundation President/CEO Alicia Fernandez Dicks said. “We are honored to be in this partnership and to be involved in the recruitment process. We are confident that Amy’s expertise will be a tremendous asset for UMF going forward.”
Formed nine years ago, UpMobility Foundation has made more than $15 million in philanthropic investments and is poised to significantly increase the scale and scope of its philanthropic activities in a variety of nonprofit initiatives across central and upstate New York.
