U.S. Army awards SRC $425 million contract for small drone defense system

CICERO, N.Y. — The U.S. Army has awarded SRC Inc. a $425.8 million contract for development, production, deployment, and support of the E-LIDS system.

E-LIDS is short for expeditionary-low, slow, small unmanned aircraft system integrated defeat system, or a system to defend personnel against certain types of drones.

Bids were solicited through the internet with “one received,” per the Thursday contract announcement from the U.S. Department of Defense.

Work locations and funding will be determined with each order, with an estimated completion date of July 26, 2025, per the announcement.
