CICERO, N.Y. — The U.S. Naval Surface Warfare Center has awarded SRC a SeaPort Next Generation (SeaPort-NxG) prime contract.

The contract has a “potential value” of $5 billion per year, or $50 billion over the 10-year contract life span for all Seaport-NxG awardees, SRC said in a Thursday news release.

Under the SeaPort-NxG contract, SRC will provide systems engineering; software development; research and development; system design documentation and technical data; financial analysis; quality assurance; configuration management; and information technology and logistics support for agencies throughout the federal government.

SRC is a nonprofit corporation headquartered in Cicero that focuses on areas that include defense, environment, and intelligence.

Naval Surface Warfare Center is part of the Naval Sea Systems Command’s (NAVSEA) warfare-center enterprise, per its website.

The center “operates the Navy’s full spectrum research, development, test and evaluation, engineering, and fleet support centers for offensive and defensive systems associated with surface warfare and related areas of joint, homeland and national defense systems from the sea,” the website says.

“SRC is proud to be supporting the U.S. armed forces with critical services, research and development,” Paul Tremont, president and CEO of SRC, said in the release. “This contract is a great opportunity for SRC to continue to develop innovative solutions for the military in alignment with our mission.”

SRC is “growing” and has more than 300 positions to fill over the next year, per its release. The company is currently hiring digital, software, systems and test engineers across the U.S. to support the company’s research and development projects. SRC has been running TV ads seeking applicants.
