MEXICO, N.Y. — The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) has awarded the Town of Mexico $280,000 for additional financing for a water-service project.
The funding comes from the USDA’s water and waste disposal loan program, the office of U.S. Representative Anthony Brindisi (D–Utica) said in a Tuesday news release.
The USDA rural development grant will go toward construction of a new water system to provide potable water to residents that are currently on private wells that may have become contaminated.
