SYRACUSE, N.Y. — Vera House, Inc. announced that Farah Jadran, a NewsChannel 9 WSYR TV reporter and anchor, has been named president of its board of directors for 2018.
Vera House — a nonprofit agency that prevents, responds to, and partners to end domestic and sexual violence and other forms of abuse — also announced the following people as board officers.
Barbara Karper, Le Moyne College alumni engagement advisor, and Valerie Cushman, branch manager at Geddes Federal Savings and Loan, will serve as board VPs. Richard Maxwell, VP and chief financial officer at Barton & Loguidice, has been named board treasurer, and Sabrina Tipton, business analyst at Continuum Systems, will serve as board secretary.
New Vera House board members who will serve a three-year term starting in January 2018 include: James Branche, human resources manager at United Radio, and Danielle Chabot, director of compliance at SRC, Inc.
Vera House says it provides a 24-hour crisis, support and information line as well as emergency shelter to “ensure individuals are safe from the threat of violence.”
