Verizon adds to local 4G coverage

Verizon Wireless recently expanded coverage of its 4G LTE data network in the Utica-Rome and Binghamton areas.

The company activated 10 new 4G LTE sites Utica-Rome and two new sites in Binghamton. The additions expand and fill in coverage on the high-speed data network, according to the company.

Verizon Wireless launched 4G LTE coverage in Utica-Rome in December 2011 and in Binghamton in June.

A joint venture of Verizon Communications (NYSE, NASDAQ: VZ) and Vodafone (LSE, NASDAQ: VOD), Verizon Wireless serves nearly 96 million retail customers. The company is based in Basking Ridge, N.J.
