DeWITT, N.Y. — Verizon Communications (NYSE: VZ) today announced plans to add about 100 employees at its Fiber Solutions Center on Thompson Road in DeWitt.
The hiring will boost the center’s current workforce of 380 to 480, according to a company spokesman. Verizon is recruiting to fill 100 fiber customer-support analyst positions.
People in those positions handle inquiries from customers about their fiber-based voice, Internet, and/or video services, Verizon said in a news release.
The hiring process will continue until August.
The Syracuse–area hires are part of a recruiting effort to attract about 450 new employees at select Fiber Solutions Centers in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic states.
The positions offer “competitive” salaries, benefits, and participation in the company’s 401(k) program with a dollar-for-dollar match of up to 6 percent of an employee’s contribution, Verizon said.
