Verizon Wireless names new president for upstate NY region

Verizon Wireless, Inc.  announced Wednesday that it has named Chris Felix president of the company’s upstate New York region.

He replaces Russ Preite, who has been named president of the company’s northern California/Nevada/Hawaii region.

As regional president, Felix will set Verizon Wireless’ strategic direction and direct its sales, operations, financial performance, and the customer experience in Upstate, the company said in a news release.

Before his new post, Felix served as vice president of federal-government sales for Verizon Wireless. He also has held various leadership positions in corporate and government sales, as well as retail sales and operations for the company’s Washington–Baltimore–Virginia region. Felix also served as director of corporate sales for Verizon Wireless in the Carolinas/Tennessee region.

Felix began his wireless career in 1988 with Bell Atlantic Mobile. He holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from James Madison University in Virginia.

Headquartered in Basking Ridge, N.J., Verizon Wireless serves 93 million retail customers and has 80,000 employees nationwide. The company’s upstate New York headquarters is located near Rochester.
