VIP Structures names Osmun new president of construction

SYRACUSE, N.Y. — VIP Structures has hired Ken Osmun of Naperville, Illinois as its next president of construction. He will be taking over for the current president of construction, Jim Herr, in late February/early March, Syracuse–based VIP announced in a news release.

Osmun brings 17 years of experience, and several accreditations, in the construction industry. He previously served in the U.S. Navy for eight years with his last position being lieutenant, resident officer in charge of construction. After his honorable discharge, Osmun was hired by Wight & Company of Illinois as a senior project manager and quickly rose to president of Wight Construction Services, Inc., per the release. As president, he was responsible for more than $100 million in annual revenue across various commercial construction project types.

Herr has been with VIP Structures for more than 38 years. He will continue to serve as president of construction until Osmun’s arrival, the company said. Herr will then transition out of the day-to-day role of running VIP’s construction company and retain a position as senior advisor, working on projects and initiatives that serve the construction department and the entire company.
