VIP Structures to shift company leadership to sisters Tidd, Nutting

SYRACUSE, N.Y. — VIP Structures, Inc. of Syracuse will soon shift the firm’s leadership to the “next generation.”

The firm has named Meg Tidd its new CEO, effective March 1, succeeding her father, Dave Nutting, who moves to the role of chairman and owner.

Tidd has been serving as the company’s COO.

At the same time, Kate Nutting, principal-in-charge and managing member of VIP Architectural Associates since 2014, will continue her role as owner and managing member.

Kate Nutting and Meg Tidd are sisters and the “next generation leaders of the firm,” per a VIP news release. Dave Nutting began VIP Structures in Syracuse in 1975.

Tidd joined VIP in 2011 while pursuing her MBA degree with a concentration in corporate strategy and marketing from the University of Rochester’s Simon Business School. Besides her current role as COO, Tidd has also served as VIP’s chief marketing officer.

VIP says Kate Nutting plans to pursue an executive MBA through both Brown University & IE Business School, which will involve study in both Madrid, Spain as well as in Providence, Rhode Island where Brown University is located. She will focus her studies on innovation and leadership, the firm said.

While Kate Nutting pursues her studies, Ken Osmun, president of construction at VIP Structures, will serve as the interim director of architecture.

Headquartered in Syracuse, VIP Structures is a design-build firm that has more than 40 years of experience in architecture, construction, and development. The firm also says it has in-house engineering and property-management expertise for commercial, industrial, and institutional clients.
