ALBANY, N.Y. — Walmart Inc. (NYSE: WMT) says it will spend $52 million during the next year to remodel 15 stores across New York state and introduce in-store and online changes.

The Arkansas–based retail giant says the work is part of its $11 billion capital plans for its fiscal year 2019.

“We’ll continue improving our store experience in New York while offering our customers new technology and innovations that makes shopping faster and more convenient,” Keith Wyche, a Walmart regional general manager in New York, said in a release

Among the stores set to be remodeled are Walmart locations on Gannett Drive in Johnson City, Genesee Street in Oneida, state routes 5 and 20 in Geneva, North Road in Waterloo, and Fourth Street in Watkins Glen.

Along with the remodeling work, Walmart says it expects to test new technologies for shoppers, including grocery pickup “without ever having to unbuckle their seatbelts,” and pickup towers that automate much of the shopping process.
