WATERTOWN, N.Y. — On Wednesday, North Country professionals and vendors ventured to a new location for the annual Business Networking Expo, hosted by the Greater Watertown-North Country (GWNC) Chamber of Commerce.

Formerly held at the Dulles State Office Building in downtown Watertown, this year the chamber moved the expo across town to the Bruce M. Wright Memorial Conference Center on Faichney Drive in Watertown.

Holding the event at the conference center “offers better parking and easier accessibility for vendors to set up and tear down,” says Michelle Carpenter, director of events for the GWNC Chamber.

Come November, the conference center will also be the chamber’s new home.

Carpenter says that the chamber has been hosting the expo for more than 10 years and on average, the event attracts 300 to 400 attendees.

Most of the 65 vendors present on Wednesday were businesses and nonprofits from Jefferson County, but a few made the trip from Syracuse, Oswego, Plattsburgh, and Albany to exhibit at the expo. The event provides business-to-business networking, as well as an opportunity for area businesses to showcase their products and services to other professionals.

The chamber also hosted its monthly networking event, “Business After Hours” in conjunction with the expo this year.

“This will bring in a good target audience for our vendors,” says Carpenter.
