SYRACUSE, N.Y. — WCNY announced that Cristina Hatem, of Jamesville, has joined the public broadcaster as VP and chief marketing officer.

Hatem brings more than 25 years of integrated marketing, sales, event, and community engagement experience to WCNY. She is responsible for the development and execution of WCNY’s brand, marketing, sales, and public-relations efforts, WCNY said in a release.

Hatem previously was a marketing communications manager at JADAK; manager of corporate marketing communications, customer and market research at Preferred Mutual Insurance Co.; and also previously worked at Beard Miller Company, Mower, and Sage Marcom Inc. She earned a bachelor’s degree in public relations from Syracuse University’s S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications and a master’s degree in teaching from Le Moyne College.
