SYRACUSE, N.Y. — WCNY, Central New York’s public broadcaster, announced it has appointed Deedy Williams as director of media sales.

In this role, she develops and implements WCNY’s strategic sales plan, works with the public broadcaster’s sales team to meet and exceed sales goals, and coaches and trains account executives, among other duties, according to Williams’ LinkedIn profile.

Williams brings more than 20 years of commercial-sales experience and management to WCNY. She previously was nesting manager at Spectrum Business. In that position, Williams oversaw recruiting, training, and development of new hires, per her LinkedIn profile. Before that, she was sales manager for Time Warner Cable Business Class.

Williams earned a master’s degree in communication with a concentration in advertising from Syracuse University’s S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications. She has a bachelor’s degree in business administration from SUNY Empire State College and an associate degree in retail business management from Alfred State College.
