Welch Allyn fills two chief officer spots

SKANEATELES FALLS  —  Welch Allyn has appointed two employees to chief officer positions, the medical-device manufacturer said today.

The company named Scott Gucciardi executive vice president and chief marketing officer, a role that will have him lead Welch Allyn’s global marketing. He had been executive vice president for new product development, where he oversaw research and development.

Welch Allyn also made Karen Hendricks executive vice president and chief new product development and technology officer, which will have her lead research and development. She was executive vice president for technology and innovation, a role that had her working with emerging technologies and working with the company’s business partners.

“Scott’s experience in marketing, new-product development, product management, and strategic business-unit leadership during his 22-year career with Welch Allyn makes him uniquely qualified to lead our marketing function,” Welch Allyn President and CEO Julie Shimer said in a news release. “The new role Karen has taken on will leverage her experience in technology as well as research and development to create solutions that best fit our customers’ needs.”

Welch Allyn is headquartered in Skaneateles Falls and has 2,750 employees in 26 countries. It specializes in medical diagnostic equipment.
