SKANEATELES FALLS, N.Y. — Welch Allyn Inc. — a unit of Hill-Rom Holdings, Inc. (NYSE: HRC) — has been awarded up to a $100 million contract from the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) to provide patient-monitoring systems, accessories, and training to U.S. armed-services branches.
It’s a five-year base contract with one five‐year option period, according to a U.S. Department of Defense contract announcement. The customers using Welch Allyn’s products and services will be the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, and federal civilian agencies.
Welch Allyn, a medical-device maker, was chosen from 36 companies that responded to the DLA’s firm‐fixed‐price, indefinite‐delivery/indefinite‐quantity competitive contract solicitation.
The contract completion date is June 24, 2024. The Defense Department will fund the contract award with defense working-capital funds for fiscal-year 2019 through fiscal-year 2024.
