SYRACUSE, N.Y. — WellNow Urgent Care, which operates locations across upstate New York, says it will open its newest clinic in Syracuse on Wednesday.

The new facility is located at 1600 Erie Boulevard East, near Teall Ave.

It offers timely treatment for non-life-threatening injuries and illnesses seven days a week from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. with no appointment needed.

WellNow Urgent Care describes itself as “one of the country’s fastest-growing urgent-care providers.”

Westlake Development, LLC of DeWitt handled the exterior work, while Sturtevant, Wisconsin–based Horizon Retail Construction Inc. completed the interior. The shell and site work started in September and interior work began in early December.

The new urgent-care clinic will provide “timely” service for ailments such as sprains, burns, colds and allergies. It will also provide on-site X-rays, lab testing and physicals, along with COVID-19 testing, including rapid testing and antibody testing.

Patients can book an appointment online, WellNow said.

The new center includes a dedicated space for a wide range of occupational medicine services, including DOT/19A physicals, workers’-compensation assistance, respirator fit exams, audiometry, and more.

“We’re proud to partner with local businesses to support the health and safety of their workers,” Dr. John Radford, president at WellNow Urgent Care, said. “Providing accessible and convenient care to the community is our top priority, particularly as people look for safe ways to return to Spring sports and travel while the COVID-19 pandemic continues.”

The new location in Syracuse joins other WellNow Urgent Care centers in the area, including Camillus, Cicero, Clay (3840 Route 31 and 7375 Oswego Rd.), DeWitt, Fairmount, and Fayetteville. The company operates more than 85 centers across New York, Illinois, Ohio, and Michigan.

Founded as Five Star Urgent Care in 2011 by Dr. John Radford and headquartered in Chicago, Illinois, the company rebranded as WellNow Urgent Care in 2018.
