WellNow Urgent Care to add 300 jobs in four states, including Syracuse market

WellNow Urgent Care announced it plans to add health-care workers in its Syracuse market, part of its plans to hire about 300 employees over the next three months in New York, Ohio, Illinois, and Michigan.

The “accelerated” hiring strategy follows WellNow’s December acquisition of Columbus, Ohio–based Hometown Urgent Care & Occupational Health. The acquisition “nearly doubled” WellNow’s footprint, “making it one of the top 10 urgent-care providers in the United States,” per its Monday news release.

“It’s an exciting time to join WellNow as we continue to grow at a rapid pace,” Dr. John Radford, president of WellNow Urgent Care, said. “In 2020 alone, we served more than a million patients, opened nine new centers and acquired Hometown Urgent Care.”

The new positions will support new WellNow centers set to open in 2021 and to backfill recently promoted positions. Open roles for clinical providers include nurse practitioners, physicians’ assistants, medical assistants, and x-ray technologists. WellNow is also hiring receptionists and other administrative and customer support roles.

WellNow Urgent Care is headquartered near Buffalo. In the last year, WellNow has hired more than 1,000 new employees. The company currently employs more than 1,750 people across four states.
