What channel is the Syracuse basketball game on? (at Boston College)

Syracuse basketball (18-11 overall, 7-9 ACC) has its back against the wall as it visits the Boston College Eagles (16-13, 6-10) Wednesday night, seeking to revive Orange NCAA bid hopes with a win.

The game tips off at 9 p.m. at Conte Forum in Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts and will be televised on the ACC regional sports network (RSN) and the Watch ESPN app. In Central New York and many New York state markets, viewers will be able to see the game on the YES Network.

In the Syracuse area, YES is available on these channel numbers:

[elementor-template id="66015"]
  • Spectrum: 53 and 321 (SD/HD)
  • Verizon FiOS: 76 (SD)/ 576 (HD)
  • DirecTV: 631 (SD/HD)
  • New Visions: 76 (SD)/ 762 (HD)

For other areas and TV systems in the state, you can use the YES Network Channel Finder, available here: http://web.yesnetwork.com/schedule/programs/channel_finder.jsp

In other markets outside New York, the contest will be available on these regional sports networks: AT&T SportsNet Pittsburgh, Fox Sports Florida/Sun, FOX Sports Midwest, FOX Sports North, FOX Sports South, FOX Sports Southwest PLUS, FOX Sports West, FOX Sports Wisconsin PLUS, NBC Sports Washington PLUS, NESN, and SportsTime Ohio.

Syracuse enters the game coming off two straight losses to the ACC’s two premier basketball programs: 78-74 to North Carolina last Wednesday and 60-44 at Duke last Saturday.

Boston College has lost three straight games, including a 79-78 defeat at Miami Saturday afternoon. The Eagles led by as many as 14 points, but missed critical free throws down the stretch and were defeated by a Hurricanes three-pointer with 2.3 seconds left in the game.

What’s at stake for Syracuse?

A lot. The Orange, after getting swept last week, are now two games under .500 in ACC play and sitting outside the NCAA bubble. Syracuse likely has to beat both BC and Clemson to finish out the regular season and then win a game or two in next week’s ACC Tournament to give itself a strong chance to make the NCAA Tournament. A loss to the Eagles would likely be a near-fatal blow to Orange NCAA hopes, requiring a magical Cuse run at the ACC Tournament to overcome it.

Syracuse has won its last two meetings with the Eagles, including an 81-63 victory at the Carrier Dome on Jan. 24 of this season. However, Boston College did win the last matchup in Chestnut Hill, dominating the Orange 96-81 on New Year’s Day in 2017.

Syracuse leads the series 7-2 since the Cuse joined the ACC in the 2013-2014 season.
