CORAL GABLES, Fla. — Syracuse basketball (17-13, 10-9 ACC) looks for a second straight win to close out its regular season, when the Orange visit the Miami Hurricanes (14-15, 6-13 ACC) on Saturday afternoon.

The game tips off just after 4 p.m. at the Watsco Center in Coral Gables, Florida and will be televised on the ACC Network, available to subscribers of many cable and satellite TV packages. You can also stream it through the ESPN app as long as you receive the ACC Network through your TV subscription. Jay Alter and Matt Doherty will be the announcers.

The ACC Network channel numbers in the Syracuse area are as follows:

  • Verizon Fios: Channel 571 (HD) & 71 (SD)
  • Spectrum Channel 388 (HD & SD)
  • New Visions: Channel 780 (HD) & 80 (SD)
  • Dish Network: Channel 402 (HD & SD)
  • DirecTV: Channel 612 (HD & SD)

What’s at stake for Syracuse?

A win locks up a 5 seed for the Orange at next week’s ACC Tournament in Greensboro, North Carolina, which is the best possible seed Syracuse can earn. That will give the team its best chance to make an improbable long run in the conference tournament. The Orange (No. 67 in the NCAA’s NET Ratings) likely need to win the ACC Tournament to make the NCAA Tournament through an automatic bid. But if Syracuse could pull off three wins — which would require two big upsets & Quadrant 1 wins along the way — to make the championship game, it may get itself into the NCAA at-large bid discussion. A win over Miami also likely locks up an NIT berth for Syracuse, which will come in handy if it can’t make magic happen in Greensboro to make the big dance.

Saturday’s game is the 28th all-time meeting between Miami and Syracuse, with the Orange leading the series 19-8. Syracuse won last season’s matchup, 73-53, at the Carrier Dome, as well as its last trip to Miami, 62-55, in 2018. The Cuse is 5-3 versus the Canes since joining the ACC six years ago. The Orange went 13-5 against Miami when they were both in the Big East, from 1992 to 2004.
