What’s at stake for Syracuse?

The Orange have a chance to pick up just their second Quadrant 1 win, in this case by beating a top 75 RPI team on the road, the highest classification of win available under the NCAA selection committee’s new quadrant system of evaluating teams. A second consecutive loss would take a lot of air out of Syracuse’s NCAA bubble just as it gets ready to face North Carolina and Duke in back-to-back games next week

Syracuse lost its last meeting with Miami, 62-57, in its opening game of the ACC Tournament last March 8. That was a game the Orange had to have to boost their NCAA chances; they ended up in the NIT following the loss. Syracuse leads the all-time series with the Canes 17-8.
